This is another fiction book that I found to be quite full on in the emotional response and empathy that it evoked when I read it. I may have actually thrown the book across the room at one point out of anger. I’m not much of a crier over stories, but even I was close at a few sections. It’s a polarising book that not everyone will appreciate, and it’s not necessarily grounded in reality all the time. It goes deep into trauma and the lifelong impact that can have on an individual’s mental health and relationships.
